Aubrey Independent School District's Monaco Elementary School held a surprise and Grand Bell Ringer on April 6, 2023 to honor staff members Leisa Crawford, Mary Gelski and Sabra Perkins who have all completed treatments for breast cancer and did not get the opportunity to "ring the bell" at their respective care facilities. Students sang "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten as Crawford, Gelski and Perkins entered the school gymnasium. They were surprised to see family members in attendance and were showered with flowers and gifts.
