Aubrey ISD school board members, administrators, faculty and staff gathered at Aubrey Middle School for a "State of the District" meeting called by Superintendent Dr. Shannon Saylor. It actually was a surprise renaming of Aubrey Middle School!
In Fall 2025, Aubrey ISD will open its second middle school named for Evalois Owens. Now, both schools have individuals they are named for.
Congratulations to Aubrey ISD Deputy Superintendent Terrie McNabb! In 35 years, McNabb's service to Aubrey ISD includes roles as: Interim Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Director of Special Programs, Intermediate School Principal, Elementary School Principal, High School Counselor, English Teacher.
Before the reveal, the surprise included a fun game, "The Hey Challenge," of which Ms. McNabb tried to guess the names of persons saying "Hey Terrie."
Dr. Saylor then led a slideshow of flashbacks and memories throughout McNabb's childhood, early life, family and career.
Afterwards, the curtain was opened to reveal members of McNabb's family holding a sign revealing the school's new name.
Led by principal Dr. Heather Vandiver, McNabb Middle School is here!
