Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, the Aubrey Independent School District (ISD) will implement a three-tiered bus system and bell schedule to increase efficiency districtwide among its seven campuses.
A tiered system staggers school start and end times allowing buses to service multiple schools, optimizing transportation resources. The current two-tiered system in place has tight windows that are prone to delays in drop off and pick up times. Moving to a three-tiered system will improve on-time arrivals and departures across the district.
School start and end times, including building open times, beginning August 2025 are as follows:
Elementary School 7:35 a.m. - 3:05 p.m. (7 a.m. Doors Open)
Middle School 8:10 a.m. - 3:40 p.m. (7:35 a.m. Doors Open)
High School 8:45 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. (8:10 a.m. Doors Open)
The following details desired outcomes for these changes:
Increased time for buses to complete routes.
Three tiers could eliminate 4-6 routes for a cost savings of $150,000 per route.
Improve punctuality and enhance academic readiness for students, reducing anxiety and giving them time for breakfast.
Consistently arriving and departing on time, helping families with more consistent routines.
Ease common traffic time on roads.
Aubrey ISD feels these adjustments are necessary to create a more efficient transportation system that will enhance classroom learning.
The first day of school for the 2025-2026 school year is Aug. 13, 2025. For registration information and more, visit www.aubreyisd.net
