In 2011, Colleen Dow was elected to the Aubrey ISD School Board, a position she continues to hold with dedication, currently serving as vice president. Notably, she fulfilled the role of board secretary from May 2018 to May 2022. Mrs. Dow's motivation to serve on the school board stemmed from her deep connection to the school district as a parent of three children attending Aubrey schools. This personal investment allowed her to understand the needs and desires of fellow parents, shaping her commitment to her role on the board. #SchoolBoardMonth

Jim Milacek has been a member of the Aubrey ISD School Board for 20 years. He was elected as board president in May of 2021 and re-elected in May of 2022. Prior to his current presidency, Mr. Milacek served as board president from May 2018 to May 2020. Additionally, he held the position of vice president for five years and served as secretary for four years before that. Mr. Milacek's decision to join the school board stemmed from his involvement in a school bond committee, where he discovered a passion for serving in that capacity. After being approached about running for the school board, he gladly accepted the opportunity. #SchoolBoardMonth
