Congratulations to Teacher of the Year (TOTY) recipients across all six Aubrey ISD campuses!
A TOTY prize patrol consisting of Aubrey ISD Superintendent Dr. Shannon Saylor, other district leaders, cheerleaders and dance team members visited each campus to deliver the news. There was excitement, cheers and a few tears in celebration of our 2024-2025 honorees.
This is what they each had to say:
Brockett Elementary School - Tara Brindle, Dyslexia Teacher:
“Well, first of all, ‘Wow,’ I’m so surprised and that was really unexpected but so very appreciated. I have had so many students this year, truly, hard to keep up with them all, so many, we’ve just really grown with our numbers. So, I feel like I’ve worked really hard and given these students my all this year, so this is quite an honor… very special.”
Fuller Elementary School - Britni Redfearn, Special Education Teacher:
“I think that my peers realizing how hard I work means the world to me, and I literally just, all day long, do what I can for my kids to make sure that they have what they need to be successful.”
Monaco Elementary School - Angie Lee, Music Teacher:
“I am completely shocked and humbled. I feel very undeserving because there are so many incredible teachers on our campus at Monaco and in Aubrey ISD and I just feel really, really honored and totally undeserving. Thank you so much!”
West Elementary School - Kristie Sanders, Kindergarten Teacher:
“I feel very honored, very unworthy. There are so many amazing people that I work with every single day here at West and they each deserve this… every single day for the hard work that they do. I feel very honored to have even been nominated.”
McNabb Middle School - Chloe Tietjens, English Language Arts and Reading Teacher:
“This feels so amazing… teachers who put in so many hours. Just to be acknowledged, I feel very loved and appreciated right now.”
Aubrey High School - Renae Leyba, Math Resource Teacher:
“It’s an amazing feeling because you come to work everyday and you put your heart and soul into the kids and you don’t know if it’s connecting or that they’re going to be able to accomplish the things that they are needing to accomplish; but you have those moments where you get to see a difference and see that the kids appreciate what you’re doing. So, this is just an honor to be recognized by my fellow teachers and staff. I'm just really excited. Thank you.”
Congratulations to all Aubrey ISD 2024-2025 Teachers of the Year!
