During the Aug. 21, 2024 regularly scheduled board meeting, the Aubrey ISD Board of Trustees officially welcomed two new Aubrey High School administrators hired over summer break.
Dr. Duane Flowers - Assistant Principal, Aubrey High School
Dr. Flowers holds a Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University in Beaumont, a Master of Business Administration in Sports Management from Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, AL and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics-Teaching from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC. With over two decades experience as a math teacher, football/track coach and administrator, Dr. Flowers joins us from Millbrook High School, a Wake County Public School in Raleigh, NC of which he served eight years as an assistant principal.
Virginia (Vinny) Thomas - Assistant Principal, Aubrey High School
Thomas holds a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, PA. Thomas’ teaching career began over two decades ago in Pennsylvania, with additional experiences as a coach, middle school choir director, district leadership program participant and administrative intern, with roles in Lewisville and Denton ISDs.
