Let's GUAC about it! The Aubrey ISD District Leadership Team (DLT) had their annual retreat on July 22, 2024. Superintendent Dr. Shannon Saylor led the retreat with discussions on leadership that included a "Guac Off" with teams working together with avocados and other ingredients to make the best guacamole. The entries were judged on a variety of factors, including taste and presentation. It was a fun and creative way to collaborate and get the school year off to a great start! He worked virtually all year with a team of students from around the country on space-themed projects. Their efforts earned them a score of 274 out of 280 and an invitation from Johnson Space Center to participate in the next phase of the program. They will work on Artemis-themed missions to the Moon and Mars, guided by NASA engineers and scientists who will oversee their research, designs, and final presentations.
