When dressing up in costume and going trick-or-treating, it is crucial to prioritize safety. Here are some tips for a safe evening: 1. Trick-or-treat with an adult or in a large group. 2. Walk on sidewalks. 3. Stay in well-lit areas. 4. Carry glow sticks or use flashlights. Add reflective tape or stickers on costumes and bags. 5. Do not eat any candy until it has been inspected at home and review labels to ensure allergens are not present. 6. Stay on the porch when trick-or-treating. Never go in a strangers home or car. 7. Slow down and stay alert. 8. Wear costumes that say “flame resistant” on the label. Tips provided by dhs.gov

Tuesday morning, in the rain and the mud, our Chaps were busy making us Aubrey proud at the UIL 4A Regional Cross Country Championship in Grand Prairie. The ladies were running for the second season in a row as a team, after qualifying at district in 2nd place. Senior, Raelee Wales was the first to finish for the girls in 44th place followed by Jentri Phipps, Chloe Owens, Lily Stewart, Sydney Crawford and Emma Cano finished the season with several of them establishing new PRs. Senior, Gage Owens was our lone qualifier and finished in 22nd place overall out of 175 competitors. We prevented Ranchview from gaining momentum during the match, showcasing a strong team effort. Although we made a few hitting errors in the first set, we improved in sets two and three. It was a successful night to conclude our last district game of the season. We also honored our 4 seniors: Kaitlyn Walters, Annaleise Sevier, Olivia Starr, and Madison Temple. Our tiebreaker seeding game against Celina will take place on Friday, October 27th at Panther Creek High School, starting at 5:00 pm. Photo Credit: Keith Monson

Aubrey vs Celina 25-15, 25-18, 20-25, 25-23 Record: 33-10 District: 8-1 Kills: Annaleise Sevier (19), Kynadi Hall (17), Chloe Miller (11), Abby Wright (7), Olivia Starr (5), Shelby Harrington (2) Blocks: Kynadi Hall (4), Annaleise Sevier (3), Chloe Miller (2), Abby Wright (1), Olivia Starr (1), Shelby Harrington (1) Digs: Kaitlyn Walters (25), Annaleise Sevier (23), Olivia Starr (15), Kynadi Hall (12), Baylee Hampton (11), Chloe Miller (5) Aces: Olivia Starr (1) Assists: Olivia Starr (31), Baylee Hampton (10), Kynadi Hall (3), Annaleise Sevier (3), Kaitlyn Walters (2) The Lady Chaps defeated Celina in four sets on Friday night. We did a great job in set one of starting fast and limiting our unforced errors. We carried that with us into the second set. We had a few more hitting errors in the second set, but we did a really good job of not allowing Celina to go on runs. We started too slow in the third set and allowed Celina to take an early lead. We finished the third set strong; we just couldn't make up the difference. We looked much more relaxed in the fourth set. I was very pleased with the urgency, energy, and determination that we played with throughout the match. We are tied with Celina for first in the district with one district game to go. We will play our last district match on Tuesday, October 24th as we host Ranchview. This will be our senior night, and we will honor our seniors Olivia Starr, Kaitlyn Walters, Annaleise Sevier, and Madison Temple before the JV game at 4:45 pm. Please come out and help us honor these wonderful seniors. JV will play at 5:00 pm, followed by varsity.
