Parent Notification In Case of Accident
Durham School Services realizes that parents often play a central role in the continued success of the Transportation Department. We also recognize that students and parents have specific rights and expectations.
We have established the following guidelines for notifying parents when there is a concern for the welfare of students due to an accident or serious incident.
The Site Supervisor will work closely with the district and management at Durham School Services in all areas and all decisions will be made in a timely manner.
Durham School Services will cooperate and work with the school using e-alerts, the website, and the school Facebook account.
Written information will be sent as deemed necessary.
In the event of a serious accident all drivers and management have procedures to follow.
In the event of fog or bad weather the supervisor will make the decision to have all buses routed north on Hwy 377 to the train trestle on Sherman Drive. This will be a safer route for buses at all train tracks.
