The Chaparrals concluded their season with a 21-34 loss to the Buckeyes. Despite the defeat, the team spirit cannot be broken. Coach Ivy and the entire coaching staff deserve recognition for establishing a program based on determination, teamwork, and character. Although the seniors bid farewell to the field, they depart with invaluable life lessons. We extend our gratitude to our fans, parents, cheerleaders, band, student body, teachers, and administrators for their unwavering support.

Coach Smith Reports: This will be a learning game for us. The effort was there the entire time. We just did not execute well at crucial moments. We will learn from this and be better. Last year we did not compete well against them but this year was a game we should have won. I think we will bounce back and have a strong game tomorrow vs a very good Ponder team. The Aubrey High School Debate team had a remarkable performance at the recent Regional Meet. This year, AHS will be sending two students to the State UIL Congressional Debate Meet, marking the first time since 2014. Out of all the competitors, only the top three advanced to the state level, and Aubrey secured both the first and second place positions. Brody Burton achieved the impressive feat of becoming the second student in AHS history to be a back-to-back Regional Champion. Additionally, Margaret Quade made history as the first freshman from Aubrey High School to advance to state in Congressional Debate, earning the second place medal. The Aubrey High School Debate team is undoubtedly deserving of praise.

I am really proud of how the kids came out and played this game today. Lots of energy but we got in foul trouble in the first half and had to adjust a little on defense. We came out in the 2nd half and executed well defensively which led to good scoring opportunities. We have a really tough game coming up on Monday at Denton High.
