The Lady Chaps’ season came to a close tonight, one game shy of state, after a hard-fought battle against Canyon Randall. We are so proud of all their hard work and determination. Special thanks to the coaches, parents, and fans for supporting their journey. We are #AubreyProud!

Aubrey 53
Krum 47
We started our first home game against Krum with lots of energy and jumped out to an 18-7 lead; sparked by our defense. They are a very strong team and came back sparked by some tough 3 point shooting to narrow our lead and it was back and forth the rest of the game. Very proud of how our boys handled the 4th quarter pressure to finish strong. We currently only have one returning varsity player on the floor so I am really proud of how quickly these guys are adjusting to the Varsity level. We still have several areas to improve on. I believe these guys will work hard to get better everyday.
Aubrey Scores: Jadin McMoore - 15, Marquez Lucas - 12, Tyler Hightower - 10, Aidan McKeehen - 8, Nate Dyer - 7, and Carston Stephenson -1

The Lady Chaps defeated Pleasant Grove tonight in the Regional Finals in four sets. We did a really good job of adjusting our game plan throughout the game to be able to be successful on offense. We played with a lot of heart and fight throughout the match. I was very proud of the way we responded in set 3 after dropping set two. We did a much better job in sets 3 and 4 of making adjustments at the net blocking and really allowed us to take the momentum for good. Baylee did a really good job of controlling the offense and getting the ball to her hitting that was on fire at different points. Kynadi, Chloe and Abby did a really good job mixing up their shots and finding the holes in Pleasant Groves defense. Gracie Michael was all over the court for us defensvily. She had one of her best games of the year tonight. We will take on Canyon Randall in the State SemiFinals next week. Details about this game will be released at a later date.

This week was National School Psychology Week, a time to celebrate all the amazing things school psychologists do and the important role they play in our schools and communities. #ChapsAppreciate24

Seniors on the move! The Chaparral Legacy Cooperative for community members 60+ toured Aubrey Middle School yesterday. They visited fine arts classes seeing theatre, band and choir students in action, and also visited the outdoor education class where students were making mac and cheese in Dutch ovens outside. Before the tour began, they heard from Aubrey Middle School Principal Dr. Heather Baker who introduced her leadership team. They also perused old Aubrey ISD yearbooks which brought joy and laughter as they saw familiar faces. To become a part of the Chaparral Legacy Cooperative, please reach out to Aubrey ISD Deputy Superintendent Terrie McNabb at tmcnabb@aubreyisd.net

Aubrey FFA Hosts First Greenhand Camp
Aubrey, Texas – The first Aubrey FFA Greenhand Camp, held at Aubrey Middle School, was planned and hosted by the chapter officer team on November 4th. Greenhand Camp is for first year FFA members enrolled in an agricultural science class. The purpose of the event is to introduce these students to the incredible opportunities for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success offered through agriculture education and FFA.
The officer team, made up of nine Aubrey High School students, created purposeful and engaging activities in the form of interactive stations to teach the members about official dress, the FFA Motto, the FFA emblem, leadership opportunities and team building exercises. The goal of Greenhand Camp was to demonstrate what it means to be an FFA member and inspire future involvement in the organization.
At the end of the event, students had the opportunity to ask the team any questions they had and a notable question was, “What does FFA mean to you?” Each officer took turns sharing their answer by inviting the students into their CT story of how FFA has impacted them. London Gravely, the Chaplain, ended her answer with an empowering statement, “Everybody has a place in FFA.”

Aubrey is set to face Pleasant Grove in the Regional Final playoff round on Friday, Nov. 15, at 6:00 PM at Greenville High School!
Ticket prices: $6 for adults and $4 for students. Accepted passes include District, TGCA, Senior, and THSCA.

Nov. 9: The team kicked things off with a strong 76-43 win over Diamond Hill-Jarvis! After a rough start, falling behind 0-8, the boys settled in, going on an 18-3 run and never looking back. Coach Smith is proud of the team’s energy and effort, but knows there’s still work to be done with defensive rotations and offensive movement. Scorers: Tyler Hightower 20, Marquez Lucas 14, Nate Dyer 10, Jadin McMoore 7, Jeremy Wales 7, Carston Stephenson 5, and more!
Nov. 12: Next up, the Chaps took on a strong Pottsboro team and, despite being undersized, showed true grit and determination for a 68-65 win. Coach Smith praised the boys’ poise in the fourth quarter that secured the victory. Scorers: Tyler Hightower 27, Jadin McMoore 14, Aidan McKeehen 10, and others.
Next up is a tough matchup against the state-ranked Krum Bobcats! Keep bringing the energy, Chaps!

The Lady Chaps defeated Sunnyvale in the Regional Semi-Finals last night. We looked really tight and nervous in the first set, and we allowed Sunnyvale to keep us out of system. We settled in after the first set and passed a lot better. Chloe and Abby did a really good job tonight of picking up a lot of our kills. They really focussed on Kynadi and it allowed Abby and Chloe to have a lot more open places to swing. I was very proud of our fight and heart that we played with especially towards the end of sets. They are a really good team and have some really big hitters. I was just proud of our never give up attitude and we just kept focusing on us and it showed tonight. We will take on Texarkana Pleasant Grove in the Regional Finals.
