The Aubrey Chaparral Boys Track Team competed in the Region II 4-A Track and Field Championships at University of North Texas this weekend. Winning the Regional Championship! OUR Boys Track Team, the past three years has won: The District Championship, Area Championship AND Regional Championship 3 years in a ROW!!! Culminating with the State-Runner Up Plaque last year.
Now on to the next step for our Track Team. On to STATE!!! We qualified in 6 events for the State Meet. It will take place on Thursday, May 2nd in Austin. We will have the schedule posted online. Every year, School Bus Driver Appreciation Day occurs on the fourth Tuesday in April, which this year will be TOMORROW!Encourage your student to share a kind word when loading their bus in the morning! Starting the day with a heartwarming story! Brockett PTO recently hosted a silent auction during their Bingo Night, with one of the auction items being "A Day with a Police Officer." The lucky winner was kindergarten student George Clark! Officer George spent the day alongside Aubrey ISD Officer Mike Hardin, assisting with securing doors and helping out with the car line. A huge thanks goes out to Officer Hardin for making George's day extra special. #InspiringChaps

The Lady Chaps moved to 24-4 overall and 6-0 in district with a 3-2 win over Panther Creek. With the win the Lady Chaps are now back to back district champions. Brynlie Dunkin pitched 7 innings striking out 12, walking 4 and allowed 2 hits. Mya Cherry was 2-2 with a double and Tamia Cherry was 2-3 with a solo homerun.

Aubrey Varsity Baseball picked up a District 11-4A win on Friday evening defeating Panther Creek (3-1). Hank Nokes picked up the win on the mound pitching two and a third innings, allowing one hit, one run, no earned runs and striking out one. Tyler Winten threw in relief going four and two third innings, allowing no hits, no runs and striking out five. The Chaps play a non-district game tomorrow at 11:00am at Krum. District 11-4A play continues on Tuesday, April 16 at home against Anna.
