Laney Lomas scored 1 goal. Lilly Stewart scored 1 goal. Maria Maldonado had 1 assist. The Lady Chaps will return to action this Friday at home as we take on Panther Creek at 7:15 p.m.!  Chap Soccer Report: Last night the Aubrey Chaps took on Bonham for a Home Valentine's Day Match and the boys started out fast!  The first goal was scored by Alejondro Perez off of a cut in just outside the 18 yard box.  Goal #2 was scored by Juan Serrano with Goal #3 by David Lopez shortly after.  Goal #4 was Kevin Prado on a break away and goal #5 was Alexis Carranza on a banger from about 25 yards out.  The final ended up being 5-1 as the Chaps played the reserves and Bonham fought hard to finish a late goal.        The Aubrey Chaps have little time to celebrate as they take on a Frisco Panther Creek team at Home 5:45 p.m. this Friday for Teacher Appreciation Night.  Please come out and support the Chaps as they continue to fight hard for results! Aubrey's overall record now stands at 22-12 and 5-5 in district play with a loss to Anna. Basketball is a very tough game when you don't make shots. For the year, our team has been an excellent free throw shooting team, shooting 70 percent as a team with 2 players shooting close to 90 percent. But tonight, we only made 7 of 15 which really hurts us in a close game. Along with that, we only made 1 three-point shot which makes it very tough to beat good teams like Anna. I was proud of how hard we played defensively in order to be close. We tied the game at 54 with 2 minutes to go but we could not complete the comeback and fell short. We will play a playoff game next week against Faith Family, date and time still to be determined. Yesterday, a portion of the Aubrey Boys Golf team competed in an invitational tournament at Oakmont Country Club in Corinth. It was the first tournament of the season, and also the first tournament for some of the players. The players had to deal with the cold, windy, and muddy conditions. They all had a great attitude and represented the school in a professional manner throughout the round. The top scorer on the team was Grant Ramsey, who posted a 94.

Landry Gannon contributed with 1 goal and 2 assists. Brynnlee Bohannon and Maria Maldonado each provided 1 assist. The team's chemistry on the field is truly impressive, as they continue to support and elevate each other's game. This collective effort has made us a stronger team overall. Our next game will be against Bonham at Bonham on February 14th, marking the end of the first half of district play. The JV game will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Varsity game at 7:15 p.m.!

The Aubrey Boys Soccer team suffered its first lopsided loss in district, losing to Gainesville 4-0. Aubrey had many corners and free kick opportunities but was unable to capitalize on them due to Gainesville's goalie playing an exceptional game. Despite battling hard and at times dominating possession, Aubrey wore out in the end due to the relentless pace of transition that Gainesville plays at. Aubrey will face Bonham this Wednesday at Aubrey. We look forward to seeing you there.

Aubrey's overall record now stands at 22-11 and 5-4 in district play with a loss to Panther Creek tonight. We came out with lots of energy and ran our offense well, but shots just did not fall. In the 2nd period, they got a few run outs that caused us to fall behind by 14 points going into halftime. Our guys responded well in the 3rd quarter and cut the lead to 8 points, but Panther Creek's speed and good shooting stopped all of our runs. I am very proud of how hard our kids played up to the end. This team never quits, which I believe shows lots of character. We have secured a playoff spot, but we need a win against Anna at home on Tuesday to get a better seeding for the playoffs. We continue to celebrate Black History Month, by recognizing the remarkable achievements and contributions of African Americans. Today, we shine a spotlight on the incredible legacy of Dr. Charles Richard Drew, widely regarded as the father of the blood bank. Dr. Drew was not only a brilliant surgeon and pioneer, but also an exceptional educator. While his invention of the blood bank brought him great recognition, he considered his role as a teacher to be his "greatest and most lasting contribution to medicine." Through his mentorship, he fostered a tradition of excellence, training and inspiring a new generation of African American surgeons who met his exacting standards.
