The Lady Chaps defeated Sanger in three sets last night. It took us a while to get going in set 1. We struggled to get our offense consistent, but once we did we were hard to stop. We did a really good job of moving our feet in defense and running balls down. I was proud of how our offense and defense played tonight. We just have to continue to work on controlling what we can control. We will be back in action on Friday, October 4th as we finish out the first round of district play at home against Celina. The varsity will play at 4:30, followed by the JV's. Come out and support your Lady Chaps.

The Lady Chaps defeated Van Alstyne tonight in 4 sets. We did a good job in the first set of finding our offensive rhythm quickly. We allowed Van Alstyne to gain an early lead, but we fought back and took control of the 1st set. We fell behind in the second set as well and fought back into the match. We just didn't do a good job of finishing the second set against a good Van Alstyne team. We looked much more in control in the 3rd and 4th sets. Our defense looked a lot more fluid in the last two sets, and we started picking up a lot more of Van Alstyne's hits. We did a really good job of attacking through the middle tonight. Kynadi and Kylie did a really good job for us on offense tonight. Abby played extremely well on the outside too. Baylee did a good job of getting our hitters the ball. We will continue district play next week as we travel to Sanger to continue district play. The JV will play at 5:00, followed by the varsity.
Final Score: Aubrey 14 Sulphur Springs 35

The Lady Chaps defeated Panther Creek last night in 3 sets. We did a really good job of starting fast, and then not allowing Panther Creek to go on rallies in the first set. We had some crucial adjustments on defense that allowed us to be more successful in defense the rest of the match. We played with a ton of energy, and it really fueled our play. We played very smart on offense, and did a good job of keeping Panther Creek out of system. We were relentless on defense and kept a lot of balls in play. We did a really good job of winning the long rallies. It was a good win against a really good team. We will be back in action on Friday, September 27th as we host Van Alstyne. The varsity will play at 4:30, followed by the JV's. Come out and support your Lady Chaps before heading to the football.

The Lady Chaps defeated Lake Dallas tonight in 3 sets. It took us a while to get going tonight, and we looked a little sluggish on offense and defense in the first set. We started to get rolling during the 2nd and 3rd sets tonight. Our offense did a really good job tonight of finding the open places in their defense and taking advantage of that. We did a really good job tonight of getting our hitters the ball tonight. They all picked up a lot of kills for us tonight. We did a good job of serving aggressively and keeping Lake Dallas out of system for a lot of the match. Our defense looked a lot better after the first set, and we were moving our feet a lot better. It was a good win to pick up on homecoming. We will be back in action on Tuesday, September 24 when we travel to Panther Creek to continue district play. The JV's play at 5:00 pm, followed by the varsity.

Thursday morning, the Chaparral Legacy Cooperative boarded the school bus at the Aubrey ISD administration building with Superintendent Dr. Shannon Saylor and Deputy Superintendent Terrie McNabb for a trip to Fuller Elementary School where they were greeted by campus administrators and taken on a tour led by students. This initiative gives seniors 60 and up the opportunity to learn about the District and see education happening in classrooms up close. The group received parting gifts from Fuller Elementary and additional gifts upon return to the administration building that included District notepads and passes to athletic events.
